Hi! My name is Mandi, and I’m a mama of 2 kids, a wife, and a dōTERRA leader and educator. Natural and Holistic health alternatives have been a part of my life from an early age. Fortunately, my mother raised my siblings and I in an “alternative home” so I was exposed to this lifestyle early in childhood. Although essential oils have long played a role in my health practices it wasn’t until early in 2016 that I really committed to using them in my daily routine.
Today I’d like to walk you through a day in the life of our oily home. From the moment we wake up in the morning to the time we get ready for bed at night, we are using oils!
I always start my day with a good skin care routine. Wash, exfoliate, and moisturize. I pay extra attention to areas of dry or tired looking skin by applying my skin serum roller. My favorite recipe is Frankincense, Yarrow, and Rose. It’s so decadent and helps prevent signs of aging. I blend these oils into a base of vitamin e oil and shake them up in my favorite whimsy roller.
Skin Care Roller Bottle
- 6 drops Frank
- 4 drops Yarrow
- 4 drops Rose
Fill 5 ml roller bottle with essential oils and fill remainder of bottle with Vitamin E carrier oil. Roll on face.
After dropping kiddos off at school or morning activities it’s time to get stuff done! Applying my favorite mood supporting blend to my wrists, diffuser jewelry, and back of neck helps to motivate and inspire me to tackle my day. My favorite uplifting blend is simple but effective. Peppermint and Orange!
Movin’ Roller Bottle
- 6-8 drops peppermint
- 6-8 drops orange
Fill 5 ml roller bottle with essential oils. Depends how “minty” you like it, but I do 6-8 drops of each oil and then roll on pulse points. Remember, mints can have a tingly effect in the skin. Decrease drops as needed if it’s not your fave. This tingle cooling effect is what gets me movin’!
For me nap time means work time. But this is also middle of the afternoon slump time. It’s hard to stay focused during this time. I always have a whimsy roller stuffed in my desk drawer with my focus blend. My oils of choice for this blend are Rosemary, Frankincense and Peppermint. If you really need a pick me up inhale some Peppermint straight from cupped hands!
Focus Roller Bottle
- 5 drops Rosemary
- 5 drops Frankincense
- 5 drops Peppermint
Fill 5 ml roller bottle with essential oils. Roll on pulse points.
After school pickups means germs, bacteria, viruses, and all the other fun things my kids got into throughout the day. As soon as the kiddos hop in the car we use our immune supporting roller on hands (to cleanse) and kick off our shoes and roll the bottoms of the feet. Taking off shoes in the car allows me to keep my house cleaner by not having dirty shoes inside and also gives the kids something fun to do on the way home. They love applying their after school roller to the bottoms of their feet. My go to combo for little people immune support is Copaiba, Orange, Frankincense, Tea Tree, and Clove.
After School Roller Bottle

- 3 orange
- 3 tea tree (melaleuca)
- 3 clove (omit if your kiddos are under the age of 1)
- Fave carrier oil of choice
Fill 5 ml roller bottle with oils and top off with your favorite carrier oil. This roller is on the strong side for kiddos. We keep immune rollers less diluted for a big impact. Dilute this roller to the age of your kids or amount you feel safe. For kiddos under 1 I’d leave the clove out, but use your best judgement mama!
After baths it’s time for bed. Nighttime diffusers are set in all the bedrooms and we all have our favorite rollers by our bedside tables. We roll our bedtime rollers on the bottoms of the feet and down the spine. Sometimes even a little on the pillows. Each of my kids have different blends they like, however my personal fave is Frankincense, Roman Chamomile, and Lavender.

- Favorite carrier oil of choice
Fill 5 ml roller bottle with essential oils. Top off with your favorite carrier oil. Roll on pulse points.
