Hey friends, my name is Wynne Elder and I am so giddy to be here. I’m a wife of almost 14 years, a mama of three and expecting our 4th! Our first two kiddos came to us via international adoption, and about 2 years after they came home, I started pursuing a healthier lifestyle with Young Living. We had longed to get pregnant and have a biological baby, but there was much work to do with my hormones, emotions, and lifestyle. A few years into this lifestyle, and with the help of science as well, we got pregnant with our miracle girl, Rivers Glory. Here we are 3+ years later, and about to welcome another baby girl to our crew. I blogged all through our journey on http://www.wynneelder.com/ – would love to connect over there!
SO! Let’s take a peak into a day in the life of oiling up while pregnant!
I start every day with my “emotions” routine. The key for me is keeping my oils and rollers out where I can see them. My metallic trio rollers are so happy that they almost just scream at me to pick them up and use them! So one of my FAVORITE blends lives in my silver roller…
I put 10 drops of each White Angelica, Valor, Joy, and Orange and fill it up with v6 carrier oil from Young Living. I roll it over my heart, on my wrists, behind my ears. Just a little tip from one preggo to another, your OVERALL pocket is the perfect spot to carry that roller with you on the go.
I am spending a lot of time in baby girl’s room these last few weeks – visualizing her birth, imagining her here with me nursing in this chair, and packing up everything I’ll need for the hospital.
Her space should be one of calm, and peace, and of course I want to have products that promote the clean lifestyle. I am obsessed with all things gentle baby + lavender for pregnancy and baby, so I was giddy to fill up my new rose gold hand soap dispenser in her bathroom.
Packing my new diaper bag with all my oily essentials for the hospital, and I could not help but put my pom pom diffusing key chain right on! A few drops of joy essential oil, and we are ready to go!
I’ve also been prepping some rollers and pumps to take with me for the big day. The sunrise 1 oz bottle is beautiful and PERFECT for my “after birth” concoction. I plan on bringing this to the hospital and applying to my abdomen right after birth. I combined lavender, geranium, and jasmine essential oils and decided to use the YL seedlings baby oil as my carrier. It smells divine, and I know the scent will always take me back to that day.
Next thing to pack is my birth blend roller! I made this one with my last pregnancy, and it feels so surreal to be making it again. This roller (in my metallic trio bronze) is a powerful blend of essential oils to use during labor on my ankles and abdomen.
I always want to encourage mamas to be to TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES. This means, getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, and generally listening to your body and what it needs. My bedroom has become a safe haven for me this pregnancy, and I have made sure it’s well stocked with tools I need.
Every night before I go to bed, I make sure to get comfy and engage in my normal skin care routine. This includes using my gemstone facial roller after I cleanse and moisturize my skin. I actually roll a roller of frankincense all over my face and then use the facial roller over it (I use 20 drops of Frankincense and jojoba oil as the carrier oil.) Frankinsence is so grounding, calming, and I need it for emotional support in this season. Plus using my facial roller is just that little bit of luxury I need to remind me I am still me (not just a mama) and I am worth taking care of!
The last part of my day is when I crawl into bed with my massive pregnancy pillow (game changer!) and turn on my diffuser, and apply my night time oils. One of my favorite blends while pregnant has been the “back to sleep” roller. I put 10 drops lavender, 10 drops cedarwood, and 10 drops valor with carrier oil and roll it on my big toes, and all over my feet. Pregnancy sleep isn’t always the best, so having oils and pretty rollers by my bedside to support me has been such a gift!
Well this was fun! Would love for you to come say “hi” over on the gram @wynneelder, where I share my family, daily life, and all sorts of clean living + organization tips. Consider me a mama in the middle of it with you, cheering you on to live more intentionally!
