What if I told you there was a way to grow your business income without adding more team members, growing your organization volume, hosting more events–or doing anything in addition to what you’re already doing?
Oh, and you’ll get early access to new Whimsy + Wellness product launches, free Whimsy cash each more, and other delightful perks? It’s all included in the Whimsy + Wellness affiliate community!
What Is Affiliate Marketing and How Can It Help Me Grow My Business?
Affiliate marketing is a partnership between a business, an affiliate, and the affiliates’ followers or community. We built an affiliate program because we wanted to partner with business builders like yourself.
We value collaboration over competition–we believe that when we link arms as a community, we all benefit. Plus, our affiliate program helps us understand, focus on, and reward (hint: that’s our favorite part!) the customers who are already sharing us and supporting us!
Collaboration vs. Competition
We’ve purposely set up our affiliate program so that it’s super beneficial and helpful to our affiliates–especially those of you who are already focused on building your oil businesses. Instead of competing with your oil business, our affiliate program (including all the great training we’re building out for you!) supports it and helps it grow even more.
Our affiliates earn 10% by sharing about the Whimsy + Wellness products they already use and love, and this allows you to create one of our favorite business strategies in your own business: multiple income streams.
The Strategy That Might Save Your Business
If there’s one thing COVID-19 has taught us, it’s that change can come FAST. One of the ways to help protect your family and business in the event of sudden change is to have multiple income streams.
Think of your bank account like an ocean (well, we hope it’s like an ocean ;). Different streams and rivers flow into the ocean, and that’s how your bank account works, too. If you only have one stream of income filling up your account vulnerable–if something happens to that stream, your income is gone.
But if you have two or three or even seven additional streams of income, even if they’re smaller, that’s a lot better. No matter what else happens in the world, there’s probably going to be at least one stream or river that’s still flowing.
An affiliate program like ours can be one of those extra income streams. Your main business is your oil business, but adding an additional revenue stream means you’re better prepared for whatever the future holds.
The Whimsy + Wellness affiliate program is similar enough to what you’re already doing that you don’t have to start from scratch, but it’s still separate. You’ll be able to use it to help your business grow, help your team members grow their business, and also help your entire audience experience the fun side of wellness!

9 Genius Tips for Affiliate Success
We have a great community of affiliates, and when we reached out to them for tips and ideas about what’s worked for them, we got tons of great info. Here’s what we found:
1. Do It Your Way
Your audience follows you because you’re you. One of the reasons affiliate marketing is so successful (it’s expected to bring in over $6 BILLION in revenue this year alone!!) is because we want to buy from people, not faceless corporations. Your audience wants to buy from you–and they want to buy the things you love!
Trust is at the heart of any successful affiliate program, and selling doesn’t diminish that trust–but not being authentic will. Be honest and open with your opinions and what’s working for you, and you’ll build trust with your community.
Here are some ideas for creating your own brand and increasing trust with your audience:
- Canva is a great free app that helps you create gorgeous images. Use it to create your own logo, social media posts, and emails.
- If you have a website or blog, make your own affiliate landing page (Jenna Kutcher has a great example here of how she made a landing page for a company she is an affiliate for–Primally Pure).
2. Solve a Problem
Somebody I follow on Instagram uses a popular meal subscription box, and she often shares her affiliate code + discount on Instagram. However, when she posts about it, she doesn’t say: “let me tell you about this great meal subscription and all its features.”
Instead, she says: “planning dinner used to be super stressful for me, but now it isn’t!”
She shares about how the meal subscription box solves a problem for her and you know what? I used her code to try the meal subscription service, too, because I had the same problem!
Our gut reaction any time we want to sell something is to start by sharing the features of something, but people don’t buy features, they buy solutions to their problems. Showing how the product solves your problems helps your followers and community see how it will solve their problems. It gives them hope and makes wellness fun and exciting again!
3. Add Value
One of the things you can do to help your community feel comfortable and confident about making an affiliate purchase with you is to share about the products in a way that adds value to their life.
Teach, explain, demonstrate–these are all ways that you help to build trust between your community and yourself. As you do these things, your community realizes you have a vested interest in their success.
You can demonstrate how Whimsy + Wellness products work in your everyday life and you can explain the difference they’ve made in your life, but you can also use Whimsy +Wellness products to add value without explicitly selling. In fact, most of your content (80%) should be serving and adding value–only 20% should be asking your audience to take action.
Here are some ways you can add value for your audience:
- Share your top five roller bottle recipes, or your top recipes around a theme (top 3 recipes for dry skin, top 5 recipes for peace & calm, etc.)
- Do an Instagram live about how you use essential oils for your kids (or pick another topic your audience is always curious about)
- Share an Instagram post about how you use crystals at home to make your house look and feel more peaceful
You can even take this a step farther and offer to send your audience something juicy and valuable when they purchase using your affiliate link.
Here are some things you could offer with their purchase:
- A one-page PDF guide or a video. (Think about the questions somebody has when they purchase crystals for the first time, or a set of roller bottles. How can you help them answer those questions and prime them for success?)
- Membership into a community–maybe you create a special Facebook, Instagram, or Voxer group just for people who want to use their oils and crystals together or explore alternative forms of energy healing, like Reiki healing and acupuncture
- Sometimes, people just want a personal recommendation. Can you offer to help your audience pick the perfect crystal or oil roller bottle recipe?
4. Consistency, Consistency, Consistency
People don’t usually make decisions to buy right away–most economists tell us people have to encounter a new product up to ten times before they’ll make a purchase. What does this mean for you?
It means you’ll need to share consistently with your audience. We always feel like we’re oversharing, but most people aren’t going to see all of your Instagram posts, Instagram stories, emails, etc.
You can probably share more than you think you need to, especially if you’re providing tons of value for your audience every time you do share. The key, though, is to share regularly and consistently. This is the key to making affiliate sales feel natural to your audience!
5. Share Strategically
Whenever possible, make sure you take advantage of our sales. If your followers already know and love our shop, you can alert them to a sale by sharing what you’re planning to buy, or pointing out great deals, but you can also just share what you love, and then let people know a sale is on.
Our new collections go fast, and explaining this helps build urgency for your audience. Plus, it helps you work smarter, instead of harder, by letting us do the work for you!
6. Make a Plan
This ties in to our tips about being consistent and selling strategically. The smartest way to make sure you’re staying focused and being both consistent and strategic is to make a plan!
Sit down with a calendar in front of you, and plan out everything you’d like to talk about in the next month. Set a schedule for Instagram stories, Instagram posts, emails, blog posts, Facebook posts or videos–and then stick to it!
You can use planning apps like Later or Sprout Social to help you stay on track. And don’t forget to use Canva to make your posts beautiful!
7. Video FTW
Video, video, VIDEO! We can’t stress enough how helpful video is when it comes to sharing products naturally. Your audience loves seeing our products in action–in fact, our customers often go looking for other people who use our products!
The really great thing? Your videos don’t have to be slick or even produced–just bringing your camera into your natural everyday life is great, and helps people envision how Whimsy + Wellness products will work for them, too.
8. Paint a Picture
Even as you’re sharing how Whimsy + Wellness products have made a difference in your life, make sure you’re focused on the transformation.
How were things before you discovered Whimsy + Wellness products? How are they now? Help your audience envision and imagine the changes their lives can experience, too. What will they lose out on if they don’t buy? What will they gain if they do commit?
Keeping these questions in mind helps you invite your audience into their personal wellness transformation.
9. Do the Work for Your Audience
Sure, your followers can type in a code or go to your bio and click on a link…but what if you just messaged them directly with a link or a code whenever they asked? Any time you can do the extra work for your customers or go the extra mile, do it.
Becoming a successful affiliate with us can add some serious dollars to your bottom line, without creating a ton of extra work for you.
